Walking in the footsteps of Jesus

Updated: Sep 16, 2023

One of life’s biggest events can be a journey to the Holy Land, a pilgrimage.

For every Christian, this journey is life changing and unique.

Jerusalem

A trip to Israel – The Holy Land traces the places and sites where Jesus lived, preached, made miracles and where He died. The trip actually traces His life. Such a journey will also include Biblical sites as well as some unique cultural experiences.

The trip would start in Tel Aviv, Israel’s main hub.

Tel Aviv

Here we visit Jaffa, the oldest port city in the world and where the prophet Jonah embarked on his journey to Tarshish only to be swollen by the whale. Caesarea on the Mediterranean is another stop. It was here that Paul was imprisoned before being shipped to Rome for trial. Spend a few days in The Galilee region and you will spend time tracing the childhood and early life of Jesus. Visit Nazareth, where Mary got the announcement of being pregnant and where Jesus grew up. See the Sea of Galilee where Jesus performed miracles and gave the Sermon on The Mountain.

The highlight of a pilgrimage is with a doubt Jerusalem, the holy city. Jerusalem was the center of Jewish religious life in the time of Jesus, and it was here that he arrived to make his message get through to the people. The sites are like reading the Bible: Getsemane and its ancient olive tree grove, Mount Zion and The Room of The Last Supper, The Holy Sepulcher – the resting place of Jesus, The Via Dolorosa, the way where He walked carrying the cross. No doubt you will be moved and changed.
